50s and 60s gave us the most melodius and soulful bhojpuri numbers such as "He Gangamaiya Tohe Piyari Chadaibo Sainya Se Kar De Milanwa" and "Rakhiya Banha La Bhaiya Sawan Aayeel JiyaTu Lakh Baris Ho". Later years saw a dwindling market for bhojpuri movies and songs. During the decline period, the deterioration was rampant. Rarely did one come across a bhojpuri movie or song which could act as a beacon of change in lifting the morass in Bihar. Songs and poems are supposed to have done that in history.
